Richard Alarcon

With the recent launch of a website and YouTube video, someone wants to remind voters that Los Angeles City Councilman Richard Alarcon, who is running for the state Assembly’s 39th District, is facing 18 criminal charges including voter fraud and perjury. The question is: who?

A link to the website, 18indictments.com, and video started making the rounds over the weekend. A rep for Alarcon’s main opponent in the assembly race, Raul Bocanegra, told The City Maven the campaign is not behind the attack. The domain name was registered Feb. 7, but the owner’s information is marked as private.

A call to Capitol Tech Solutions, which is hosting the video on its YouTube channel, was not returned. A representative for the Alarcon campaign did not respond to request for comment.

The councilman was charged with 18 criminal counts back in August of 2010 for allegedly living outside of his Los Angeles City Council district. Alarcon has pleaded not guilty.

Do you know who is behind the attack? Drop me a line
